Dada Hair

In the last two years I've been used as a hair model for Toronto's Vidal Sassoon (the only Vidal Sassoon in all of Canada). Recently Vidal Sassoon launched the Dada Dolls collection, inspired by Dadaism. They used me as a hair model for the collection and I got to hear from the experts what it was all about. The sketches you see here have been inspired by that collection, using the many textures from bone straight hair to sections of hair that is permed and the construction of disconnection of the hair; all constructed to each and every persons facial bone structures. Hair has played a lot in my experience when I draw and paint, as I have worked with many experienced hair dressers of Aveda, L'Oreal, Wella and Sebastian products. The methods of cutting hair is so fascinating, hair is fashion, it tells me what's to come, it will never go out of style as things always seem to come back!

I’ve just about got things up and running on my new site. Still have lots of content to add but it’s coming along. As always make sure you follow me on twitter and facebook as I continue to update the site! (thanks to a long days work from my husband Todd Lawson)

I will also be working on new work and actively looking for new clientele. If you are an art director, creative director, designer or art buyer and would like samples please get in touch!
